Earth Defense Force 5 is a large-scale third-person action shooter developed by Sandlot and published by D3 Publisher. Set in an alternate timeline that reimagines the events of the EDF series, players become soldiers of the Earth Defense Force, an international military organization tasked with defending humanity from a sudden alien invasion. Giant insects, massive alien war machines, flying invaders, and colossal monsters descend upon Earth, pushing civilization to the brink of collapse.
As a member of the EDF, players participate in a desperate war against the invading Primers, battling across cities, military bases, underground tunnels, and devastated urban environments. Featuring hundreds of missions, enormous enemy swarms, destructive combat, and cooperative multiplayer gameplay, Earth Defense Force 5 delivers the series' signature blend of chaotic action and over-the-top sci-fi warfare.
Features:
- Even more realistic battles - Armor will peel off where you shoot enemies, and their fluids will spill out onto buildings and floors, making you feel like you're truly on the EDF's battlefield
- 4 EDF classes powered up like never before - As the player, take on missions with one of four classes. Finish missions to unlock new ones and advance the story. You can switch classes before missions as many times as you'd like
